Press Release Body = Austin, TX-- February 9, 2006-- On February 24, industrial rock band DAX will return to Austin’s hottest industrial and goth club, Elysium, to rock the crowd as the opening act for the popular ‘80s band A Flock of Seagulls.
When DAX received the news that they would be the opening for the original lineup of A Flock of Seagulls, there was humbling excitement. According to frontman Dax and his bandmates, this was a historical moment. “To share the stage with A Flock of Seagulls in our hometown is an honor and a privilege. We grew up listening to them – they really helped start MTV and inspired a generation of electronic rockers.”
This opening slot isn’t the first time DAX has supported legendary artists - in November 2005, they opened for influential U.K. band Gene Loves Jezebel. DAX’s performance will support the recent release of the DAX EP (available on Amazon and CD Baby, and in Austin at Waterloo Records).
Austin residents can get advance tickets for DAX and A Flock of Seagulls at retail store Secret Oktober, for $15.
