The Real Estate Staging Association(tm) (RESA) shows staging is not only a benefit for the sellers but also for the buyers

Released on: September 23, 2007, 8:16 pm

Press Release Author: RESA

Industry: Real Estate

Press Release Summary: Recently the Real Estate Staging Association conducted a
survey of professional stagers regarding the recommendations of repairs to sellers.
The facts reinforced that staging is not only a benefit to sellers but also to the
buyers.

Press Release Body: Nationwide September 2007 The Real Estate Staging industry has
grown to a Multi-Million dollar industry in the last few years thanks to TV shows
like HGTV’s Designed to Sell and A&E’s Sell this House. Due to the growth in the
staging industry, Professional real estate stagers in North America have been
dreaming of the day when they would have the support of their own trade
organization. Today their dreams have come true as the Real Estate Staging
Association™ (RESA) has been formed to provide support to professional real estate
stagers in North America.

Recently there was a report issued by the National Association of Exclusive Buyers
Agents that that had a less than positive take on staging. NAEBA reported that
stagers use staging to cover up defects or items that need repair. “The NAEBA
report couldn’t be further from the truth. Any homeowner or Realtor that has worked
with a professional stager will in fact tell you how much professional stagers
emphasis on making all necessary repairs, replacing outdated fixtures, updating
paint etc”, reports Shell Brodnax President and CEO of the Real Estate Staging
Association.

Recently the Real Estate Staging Association conducted a survey of professional
stagers regarding the recommendations of repairs to sellers. The facts reinforced
that staging is not only a benefit to sellers but also to the buyers. 99.2% of
professional stager report they make recommendations on repairs to sellers, 72.4% of
Professional Stagers report that 60% to 100% of sellers are willing to address
repairs, 73.2% of Professional Stagers report their clients invest between $500 to
$2,000 in repairs 20.8% of Professional Stagers report their clients invest $2,000
to $5,000 in repairs.

So in fact, buyers benefit from purchasing a staged property because issues and
repairs have been addressed and much of the time sellers have upgraded paint and
amenities.
