Skelton holds a doctorate in education from the University of Mississippi, Oxford and a master\'s from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Central Arkansas, Conway and at Arkansas State University, Beebe, Arkansas. As well as a novelist, he is a poet, an actor, and a board member and award-winning play director at the Conway Community Arts Association in Conway, Arkansas where he recently won the Best Director award for 2007.
