Olympians Come to Maryland to Help Fight Breast Cancer

Potomac Valley Dressage Association and John Hopkins in the fight against breast
cancer.

Press Release Body: LEONARDTOWN, Maryland, April 26, 2008 - EquiChord is proud and
honored to be donating itstime to this year’s PVDA Ride for Life Gala Performance
scheduled for Saturday, June 28th, 2008 at the Prince George Equestrian Center in
Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

“This is such a worthy cause”, said Frank Maddlone. “There are so many poignant
stories and connections between the horse community, the survivors, and their
families. We hope this tribute performance will honor them in some small way by
spreading a message of hope and remembrance.” The theme for the evening’s exhibition
will be Remember. “We began collaborating last month, and the ideas and inspiration
flowed from everyone involved. We are very excited at how the evening is shaping up,
and are planning for it to be a departure from last year. Barbara Strawson and her
team are doing an incredible job of pulling in new talent and creativity to the mix.
We are all pulling together to include some celebrity guests and a few special
surprises that are sure to keep everyone guessing.”
Among some of the evening’s highlights will be a Gala Dinner where four-time Olympic
Gold Medal Champion, Nicole Uphoff-Selke will be the guest speaker. She will also be
signing autographs and acting as a celebrity judge for the evening’s Dancing Horse
Challenge. Riding participants in the event
will include Christopher Hickey, the 2007 Pan Am Games Gold Medalist, and Dr. Cesar
Parra, aformer Olympic and Pan Am Games participant. It will also feature various
other entertaining
exhibitions such as Megan Benjamin, World Equestrian Games’ Gold Medal vaulter; live
musical entertainment; Western reiners; quadrille drill teams, and many others.

EquiChord will also be conducting a seminar on the Anatomy of Freestyles prior to
the evening’s activities. They will be giving a background view of how Freestyles
are created. The seminar will not only include visual presentations of world class
rides and workbooks to “Score with the Judges”, but also thoughts on the rider’s
perspectives from Olympic champion Nicole Uphoff-Selke. The presentation will be fun
