Telesoft Technologies First to Market High-Speed STM-1 Interface on Low Profile PCI Express Telephony Board

Released on: June 16, 2008, 3:07 am

Press Release Author: Tim Daniels / Telesoft Technologies

Industry: Telecommunications

Press Release Summary: Telesoft Technologies releases the MPAC 3250 PCIe STM-1/OC-3
media card, the first on market with a High-Speed Optical STM-1/OC-3 Interface in a
PCI-Express (PCIe) Low Profile form factor.

Press Release Body: Blandford, England, 16th June, 2008 - Telesoft Technologies
today announced the MPAC 3250 PCIe STM-1/OC-3 media card, the first on market with
a High-Speed Optical STM-1/OC-3 Interface in a PCI-Express (PCIe) Low Profile form
factor.

The optical interface, running at 155Mbps, is able to service up to 2016 channels of
media (equivalent of 63 E1s) simultaneously. This makes it ideal for telephony
applications requiring a high density of media channels such as network ringtones,
high-capacity IVR & Media Platforms interfacing into the telephony network.

The Gbit Ethernet Interface allows streaming of media files from/to a remote host
system via RTP and is particularly useful for Media Gateway applications, while a
dual E1/T1 interface allows low speed telephony connectivity such as signalling
applications. PCIe has become the default interface for PC and server based systems
with manufacturers like HP, Dell, SUN & IBM due to the reliability, performance and
scalability of the PCIe bus. The MPAC 3250 is a low profile, single lane PCIe board
{half the height and half the length of a traditional PCI board} fitting any PCIe
chassis.

“With both STM-1 and IP interfaces squeezed into a low-profile PCIe card, the MPAC
3250 telephony board is a uniquely powerful media card,” said Gary Barter, Telesoft
Technologies. “It allows fixed, mobile and IP telephony applications to be deployed
cost-effectively, using commonly available PCI Express based servers”.

The MPAC 3250 telephony board can be ordered today by contacting your Telesoft
Technologies sales representative.
