The 2008 U.S. News & World Report hospital survey recently named the Dana-Farber
Cancer Institute the highest ranked cancer hospital in New England and fifth in the
country

This is the eighth straight year that the Institute earned top ranking in New
England. The rankings, published in the magazine\'s annual America\'s Best Hospitals
guide, added some important momentum to the institutes $1 billion comprehensive
capital campaign, The Dana-Farber Campaign to Conquer Cancer.

Publicly launched on Jan. 31

campaign aims to secure the financial resources necessary to accelerate the pace of
discovery, speed the application of scientific knowledge to help save lives, and
expand the Institute\'s ability to provide its signature total patient care. The
campaign is being led by Larry Lucchino, CEO of the Boston Red Sox,

Managing Director of Bain Capital are co-chairing the campaign.

In a letter to campaign participants and others, they wrote, As philanthropic
supporters of the Institute\'s work, each of us should feel a strong sense of pride
in this institution\'s legacy where it has come from and where it is going. But if
we\'re going to make possible Dana-Farber\'s mission to conquer cancer, we cannot rest
on our laurels. We need everyone to step forward and help secure a future without
cancer.
