To use Fundable.com, a person creates a fundraising page by providing a description
and entering how much money needs to be raised. Next, the person invites his or her
supporters to visit the page and pledge money. Once enough pledges for a
fundraising page have been secured, Fundable.com turns them into real payments and
sends the total to the creator.
If a fundraising page expires before reaching its total in pledges, Fundable deletes
all pledges and never charges money. This allows people to participate in a
fundraiser without worrying about what others will do. No one pays until and unless
everyone else makes a pledge.
To date, hundreds of pet owners and rescue groups have used Fundable to help injured
or sick animals. For example, Best Friend Pet Adoption, an animal rescue
organization in North Carolina, collected $640 from supporters to help Tirk, a
bulldog suffering from anemia.
A non-profit group called \"Homeless Animal Rescue Team\" secured $550 from supporters
to cover the medical expenses of Angel, a pit bull recently rescued from a high kill
shelter.
Since 2005, Fundable has been helping people raise money for causes. The company has
