Darren and his family will be relocating from Utah to join the Cheshire-based
telecommunications company later in the year to take up the position of Chief
Innovation Officer. He will play a key role in the company's aggressive expansion
plans.
"Finding talented individuals with the depth of knowledge and experience in IP
telephony which Darren possesses has presented a significant challenge over the last
twelve months," said Zimo's Chief Operations Officer, Martyn King.
"We have several major software releases mapped out for the next 24 months and
didn't anticipate having to cast our net quite so wide to resource their
development. That said, Darren's appointment is an incredible coup for Zimo. My main
challenge now is to contain the excitement of our CEO!" added King.
Darren will begin work alongside Martyn King and Zimo's Chief Technology Officer,
Stuart Ford, on a number of key enterprise projects. He is keen to fuel the rapid
expansion of the company's development team.
"It's a huge step for the family, but I was really impressed by Zimo's growth and
particularly to learn more about the team's plans for the future. To join the UK's
Service Provider of the Year in such a key role and at this point in the company's
development is an opportunity which cannot be overlooked - even if it does mean
upping sticks and moving my family 4,500 miles," said Darren.
Darren is leaving Interactive Communications Inc. where he worked as Director of
Telephony to join Zimo. He has significant experience in developing unified
messaging platforms, IVRs, calling card systems, conferencing facilities and many
other call management applications and features. He is also a major open source
community developer, contributing to a number of highly popular Asterisk modules.
