LondonTown.com offer special discounts for shoppers.

The annual Ham House Christmas Fair returns this year over three consecutive December weekends. To help visitors and tourists make it along to this special event on the Thames, cheap London hotel specialist LondonTown.com has slashed prices on a number of local hotels (when you book through the site).

The event itself is an annual tradition, taking place at a Stuart Mansion on the River Thames, where the leafy part of West London meets the Surrey countryside. The gorgeous estate hosts a heated marquee set among pristine landscaped grounds. Local traders run artisan food stalls and arts and crafts stands, and the Orangery is open all day for refreshments. Young children are entertained with face painting, balloon modeling and storytelling in the basement of Ham House, and a Christmas trail and mini carousel in the garden. Each Saturday as the light fades, the Family Carol Concert runs for a couple of hours, inviting everyone to sing along with the young vocal group Apollo 5.

On Sundays between 5pm-6.30pm and 7pm-8.30pm there are a series of festive concerts featuring authentic 17 th Century music played on period instruments (to tie in with the date of Ham House's original construction) by specialist ensemble The City Musick in the Great Hall. Tickets for both musical events are sold separately and range between 14-25 pounds.

Children's tickets are just 2.45 (price includes a trip to see Father Christmas in the Great Hall). Adult tickets are 3.65, and a family of four get in for 9.75. Children under 5 go free. Tickets for the The City Musick performance and the Family Carol Concert include entry to the Christmas Fair.

Ham House is situated on the River Thames, near Richmond. Built in 1626, it became the property of William Murray, a lifelong supporter of Charles I. It remains one of the few examples of well-maintained Stuart architecture in the whole of Europe.

Cheap London hotel rooms are being provided in the area by premier London website LondonTown.com. To see cheap London hotel rooms in the Richmond area – with discounts of up to 90% - visit LondonTown.com, where you can also book tickets for the Ham House Christmas Fair.
