LateRooms.com - Head to Glasgow for An Appointment with the Wicker Man

Released on: January 19, 2012, 10:02 am
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

An Appointment with the Wicker Man is due to open at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow on Tuesday February 28th.

This original musical was inspired by cult British horror film The Wicker Man, which has captivated and terrified audiences around the world since its release in 1973.

Written by Greg Hemphill and Donald McLeary, the new production tells the story of an amateur dramatic company on a remote Scottish island who decide to stage their own version of the tale.

However, their plans are disrupted when the lead actor vanishes in mysterious circumstances.

Written by Greg Hemphill and Donald McLeary, An Appointment with the Wicker Man has been described by the theatre as a "deliciously wicked homage" to Robin Hardy and Antony Shaffer's original film.

The show is approximately two hours long with an interval and suitable for those aged 16 and over. It is due to run in Glasgow until Saturday March 3rd.

Tickets for the event are available online, priced between £9 and £29.50. Evening performances will begin at 19:30 GMT, with matinee shows scheduled to start on selected days at 14:30 GMT.

LateRooms.com recommends a wide array of hotels in Glasgow that could appeal to theatre-goers, including the Alamo Guest House.
